Cairo Symphony Orchestra Presents Classical Masterpieces by W. A. Mozart, G. Rossini & R. Schumann at the Main Hall
Under the title “A Classical Approach”, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra gives a concert conducted by Maestro Mohamed Sharara and with the participation of Abdel Hamid El Showeikh (violin) and Sindy Mohamed (viola). The concert is hold at the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House on Saturday, 16 September 2023 at 8:30 pm.
The program includes selections from famous international classical compositions: William Tell’s Overture by Rossini, Symphonia Concertante for Violin, Viola, and Orchestra by Mozart, and Schumann’s First Symphony.
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1959 by Franz Litschauer, its first Principal Conductor during that time. During these years, the Orchestra has contributed in enriching the serious music scene in Egypt. The invitation of internationally renowned conductors and soloists to participate in its concert has been a long-standing tradition of the CSO. Simultaneously, Egyptian musicians and composers are given the opportunity to showcase their skills in the Orchestra’s spectacular productions. Workshops and masterclasses with international musicians, in addition to successful international tours are regularly organized by the CSO.
