
Alexandria Opera House Strings Orchestra at Sayed Darwish Theater

As part of the New Year’s celebrations, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamia Zayed, hosts a concert by the Alexandria Opera House Strings Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Sherif Mohie El Din, at the Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theater” on Friday, 27 December 2024 at 8 p.m.
The concert’s program features a selection of world-classic music works, including: Serenade for Strings by Tchaikovsky, Joy to the World by Will Mason, Panis Angelicus by César Franck, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer by Johnny Marks, Silent Night by Franz Gruber, The Glow-Worm by Paul Lincke, The Entertainer by Scott Joplin, Let It Snow by Jule Styne, White Christmas by Irving Berlin, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town by Fred Coots, O Holy Night by Adolphe Adam, Hallelujah by Mozart, Bandit’s Gallop Polka by Strauss, and Jingle Bells by James Lord Pierpont.
The Alexandria Opera House String Orchestra was officially founded by Dr. Nevine El Mahmoudy and gave many successful concerts throughout Egypt. Noteworthy, the Orchestra participated in several national and international festivals which were held within the framework of the cultural cooperation between Egypt and countries all over the world.
