An Evening Dedicated to Shawky Hegab at the Small Hall

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, hosts an evening dedicated to the late great poet Shawky Hegab at the Small Hall on Tuesday, 8 October 2024 at 7 p.m. 
The evening is hosted by Nahla Yassin and features a selection of the most beautiful poems of Shawky Hegab recited by a group of guest artists and poets, including Dr. Mohamed El Boghdadi, Anoushka, Mohamed Bahgat, and the late poet’s daughter, Sama Hegab.
The evening also includes musical performances by Wanas Ensemble, led by Dr. Tarek Abbas, and the Talents Development Center, led by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Sattar.
Shawky Hegab, a prominent Egyptian poet, writer, and artist who specialized in children's literature, was born in Egypt in 1946. Both his father and his older brother, the well-known poet Sayed Hegab, helped him to write poetry. Hegab's artistic works included plays, songs, stories, and character creations for children in Egypt and the Arab world. In addition to this, Hegab wrote and directed several films and plays receiving numerous prizes and certificates of appreciation from various organizations and festivals.
