Arab & International Compositions by Cairo Café at Small Hall

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, hosts a concert by Cairo Café at the Small Hall on Friday, 13 December 2024 at 8 p.m.
Led by pianist and music arranger, Ali Sharaf, the concert features a selection of Arab and international composition performed by Lydia and Omnia (vocalists), along with qanun player Ali Mahmoud.
Ali Sharaf is a composer, music arranger, and pianist. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science in 1985 and from the Academy of Arts in 1986, and then obtained a postgraduate diploma in music sciences. He began his professional career as a music arranger collaborating with renowned singing stars like Medhat Saleh, Mohamed Fouad, and Ali El Haggar. Ali Sharaf wrote a number of themes and scores for successful TV series and shows, as well as soundtracks for the well-known Nelly Fawazir show that aired during the holy month of Ramadan in the 90’s. He founded “Cairo Café” to revive the Arab and western music heritage through a new formulation preserving the spirit of the original song yet, simultaneously, adding a touch of modernity to it.
