“Bab El Wazir” at Salah Taher Gallery

Mahmoud Mare’e Captures the Aesthetic Values of Traditional Art at the Cairo Opera House

Under the title “Bab El Wazir”, Mahmoud Mare’e’s exhibition is going to be held at Salah Taher Gallery and will be running from Saturday, 28 October at 7 p.m. till 2 November 2023.
The exhibition showcases 50 artworks in which the artist employs materials previously used in old buildings including wood and metals while adding a modern touch to them. These paintings reflect the richness of Islamic art and highlight the aesthetic values of traditional art.
Mahmoud Mare’e graduated from the Faculty of Art Education, Al-Azhar University and has distinguished himself in the field of plastic art, Arabic calligraphy and Islamic art. He is a member of the Syndicate of Plastic Arts, the Cairo Atelier, the Writers and Artists Group, and El-Lakta El-Wahda Artists.
Mare’e has received several awards including the Grand Prize of the 24th Youth Salon and the 25th Youth Salon, the Commercial International Bank Acquisition Award, and many others.
He has held more than 10 exhibitions and participated in 32 group exhibitions. His works are collected by several public organizations including the Museum of Modern Art, the International Parliament Union in Geneva, and others in Egypt and abroad.
