Baligh Hamdi’s Masterpieces at the Summer Festival in Damanhour

Among the ongoing activities of the Summer Festival, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, hosts a concert titled “An Evening with Baligh Hamdi” at Damanhour Opera House on Thursday, 25 July 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
Conducted by Maestro Hazem El Kasbagi, the concert features a selection of Baligh Hamdi’s masterpieces performed by Ashraf Walid, Enas Ezzeldin HendEl Nahhas, and Yasser Said.
Baligh Hamdi was born in 1931 and mastered playing the oud at the age of nine. He gained fame in 1957 with his first work for Abdel Halim Hafez titled “Tukhonuh”. Afterward, he collaborated with Egyptian and Arab singing stars. His compositions are characterized by their simplicity and ease. He passed away on 12 September 1993 leaving behind a rich artistic legacy.
