It is worth noting that Le Corsaire is one of the most distinguished works in the repertoire of the Cairo Opera Ballet Company. Renowned for its fusion of Oriental atmosphere and the elegance of Western classical ballet, it is also one of the most celebrated works in the international ballet repertoire.
The ballet has been staged in several versions, the most famous of which is Marius Petipa’s 1899 version, which served as the principal inspiration for the production choreographed by the late Dr. Abdel Moneim Kamel.
