
Cairo Opera Cultural Salon Commemorates Mohamed El Ezaby’s Birth Anniversary

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamia Zayed, is organizing a cultural salon titled “Mohamed El Ezaby: The Sultan of Mawal” in commemoration of his birth anniversary at the Small Hall on Wednesday, 12 February 2025 at 7 p.m.
Moderated by music critic Dr. Enas Galal El Din, the evening is attended by Ihsan Ali Mohamed (Mohamed El Ezaby’s wife) and poet Mohamed El Asiri.
After the end of the discussion, the Talents Development Center Choir, led by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Sattar, features a selection of the great artist’s works.
Mohamed El Ezaby was born on 20 February 1938, and is considered one of the most prominent singers of Egyptian folk music. He successfully established a unique style in the art of Mawal singing, capturing the hearts and tastes of audiences. His voice was distinguished by a sweet melancholic tone. He joined Reda Troupe, and some of his most famous songs include Luxor Baladna, Fanoos Ramadan, Ezay El-Seha, and Hatshepsut.
