The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is hosting a concert by the Religious Song Ensemble celebrating the new Hijri year at the Arab Music Institute on Sunday, 7 July 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
Under the baton of Maestro Omar Farhat, the concert’s program features a selection of traditional spiritual compositions as well as works by renowned composers that embody the greatest sublime religious meanings and lessons inspired by the Prophet's migration.
The performance is presented by a group of the ensemble's stars including Taha Hussein, Ibrahim Farouk, Mohamed Hussein, Wael Saraj, Hatem Zayed, Heba Adel, Amani Samir, and Walaa Remaih.
The Religious Song Ensemble was established in 1972 by the late composer Abdel Halim  Nowera to preserve the religious singing tradition and train young talents in religious singing and invocations. The Ensemble regularly performs at the various Cairo Opera House venues across Cairo, Alexandria, and Damietta.
