Cairo Opera House Gearing up for 32nd Session of Citadel Festival for Music & Singing

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is gearing up for the 32nd session of the Citadel Festival for Music and Singing, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The Festival runs from Thursday, 15 August 2024 to Wednesday, 28 August 2024 at Mahka Theater, Salah Eldin Citadel.
Lamiaa Zayed, the Chairman of the Cairo Opera House, stated that final technical preparations for the launching of the Festival’s 32nd Session are on progress. This year’s session shall witness the presence and first-time participation of renowned Arab singers and musicians, she added.
The 14-day festival will host two concerts daily at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. featuring a diverse and inclusive concert program that caters to different age groups and tastes. With the historic Citadel of Salah Eldin as its backdrop, the Citadel Festival offers a unique and mesmerizing artistic experience in which art and history merge together in an aesthetic and harmonious atmosphere.
Dr. Lamiaa Zayed pointed out that, this year, the number of seats has been increased to accommodate a larger number of audience. Large led screens are used to provide spectators and attendees a better view of what is going on on-stage.
The Citadel Festival of Music & Singing is one of most notable musical events in Egypt since its inception in 1989. Due to its diverse program and performances offering a unique variety of both classic and contemporary, Arab and international music, the Festival attracts a huge audience of music lovers.
