Cairo Steps - Two Nights at Cairo Opera House

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Dagher, is hosting two consecutive concerts by the Egyptian-German group Cairo Steps, led by its founder Bassem Darwish, at the Main Hall on 21 & 22 December 2023 at 8 p.m. This time, singer and guitarist Hani Adel and religious chanter Ehab Younes are guests of Cairo Steps.
Bassem Darwish says that the program includes a group of the band’s works that blend Eastern music with Western classical music and modern jazz, including Nada Brahma, Alif, Anbar, Siwa, Memories, Cafe Group, Shams, Cairo, Al-Haram, Dahab, Al-Imam, Nubian Groove, Infaraj, Ya. Malek Qadri, Malek El Molek, Dancing on the Nile, Gulf Steps and others. He added that the members of the group are a number of skilled Egyptian and German musicians: Rami Atallah (piano), Rageed William (nay, duduk), Stefan Hergenroeder (e-bass), Wolfgang Wittmann (saxophone), Ragy Kamal (qanun), Wael Al-Sayed (accordion), Hani Al-Sawaf (req), Max Klass (percussion), Abdel-Azim Barhouma (tabla) and Jean Bouchera (strings).
Cairo Steps is an international Sufi jazz group, founded in 2002. It achieved wide fame as a result of its reliance on blending various musical styles, in addition to merging oriental Egyptian music with improvisations of classical music, modern jazz, and electronic sounds to produce distinctive spiritual effects, and it succeeded in achieving a broad audience base.
