Cairo Symphony Orchestra Combines Between Musica Instrumentals & Musica Vocalis

Selections & Operatic Excerpts Conducted by Italian Maestro Nicola Marasco at the Main Hall
Under the title “Musica Instrumentals & Musica Vocalis”, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra gives a concert conducted by the Italian Maestro Nicola Marasco with the participation of the soloists Ghada Shaker (piano), Amani Mounir (piano), Mona Rafla (soprano), Amr Medhat (tenor) and Khaled Samir (baritone). The concert is held at the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House on Saturday, 23 September 2023 at 8:30 pm.
The program includes a wide selection of famous classical compositions: Concerto No. 1 for Two Pianos and Orchestra by Darius Milhaud and highlights from “La Forza Del Destino” by G. Verdi, “Don Giovanni” by W. A. Mozart, “Il Barbiere di Sivglia” by G. Rossini, “Cavalleria Rusticana” by P. Mascagni, “La Bohème” by G. Puccini and “Thais” by J. Massenet
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1959 by Franz Litschauer, its first Principal Conductor. During these years, the Orchestra has contributed in enriching the serious music scene in Egypt. The invitation of internationally renowned conductors and soloists to participate in its concert has been a long-standing tradition of the CSO. Simultaneously, Egyptian musicians and composers are given the opportunity to showcase their skills in the Orchestra’s spectacular productions. Workshops and masterclasses with international musicians, in addition to successful international tours are regularly organized by the CSO.
