Cairo Symphony Orchestra Presents Christmas Oratorio at Main Hall

As part of the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to present diverse forms of art and creativity, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, hosts the second concert of the “Musica Vocalis” concert series by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra at the Main Hall on Saturday, 7 December 2024 at 8 p.m.
Conducted by Maestro Mohamed Saad Basha, the evening features the Christmas Oratorio (Parts I and III) by Johann Sebastian Bach performed by Dalia Farouk (soprano), Jolie Faizy (alto), Amr Medhat (tenor), Khaled Samir (bass) and accompanied by the A Cappella Choir.
Founded in 1959 by Austrian maestro Franz Litschauer, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra has been a cornerstone of Egypt’s musical life. Over the years, it has enriched the cultural scene by collaborating with world-renowned musicians and nurturing Egyptian talents, including composers, performers, and conductors. The Orchestra has also expanded its repertoire with global masterpieces, organized workshops led by international experts, and undertaken successful tours around the world.
