13 September 2024
Among the many endeavors of the Ministry of Culture to promote human values and celebrate religious occasions, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is hosting a concert by the Religious Song Ensemble celebrating the birth of Prophet Mohamed. Conducted by Maestro Omar Farhat, the concert is held at the Arab Music Institute on Sunday, 15 September 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
The concert’s program features traditional religious songs, hymns and Islamic sacred music.
The Religious Song Ensemble was founded by the late musician Abdel Halim Nowera in 1972, with its first concert under his direction in 1973. The group was established to preserve the heritage of religious singing and specializes in performing religious compositions and hymns. It also trains and mentors promising young voices in religious chants and invocations, participating in all religious events throughout the year at the various Cairo Opera House theatres in Cairo, Alexandria, and Damanhour.
