Chairman of the Cairo Opera House Mourns Dr. Tarek Ali Hassan*

Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, Chairman of the Cairo Opera House, along with all the artists and staff members mourn the death of Dr. Tarek Ali Hassan, the former Chairman of the Cairo Opera House, who passed away on Saturday, 7 September 2024.
Dr. Lamiaa Zayed stated: “Dr. Tarek was a prominent figure who made great contributions to arts and culture in Egypt, leaving a lasting mark on the Cairo Opera House. We extend our deepest condolences and sympathy to his family, asking Allah to shower His mercy upon Dr. Tarek and grant him forgiveness. May he rest in peace and may his family and loved ones find patience and solace during this difficult time.”
Tarek Ali Hassan was born in October 1937 in Cairo. He was a professor of medicine and the Head of Endocrinology at Al-Azhar University in Cairo. He was also a composer, musician, writer, painter, and philosopher. His music, composed in a modern polyphonic style, was performed in Egypt and worldwide. He also published major dramatic works in both English and Arabic.
