The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is presenting for the first time “The Other Dimension” by the Egyptian Modern Dance Theatre Company at the Gomhouria Theatre on 4, 5, 6 December 2024.
The new production is choreographed and directed by Monadel Antar, with set design by Ahmed Zayed and lighting design by Reda Ibrahim.
“The Other Dimension” revolves around a sensory journey inside the mind of an autistic person, intertwining isolation and sensory chaos with moments of deep focus. The performance concludes with a harmonious coexistence between the inner world and external reality.
The aim of the show is to provide a deeper understanding of the autistic experience from a sensory and emotional perspective. The audience explores the challenges and internal struggles faced by autistic individuals, as well as their moments of beauty and deep focus, fostering empathy and breaking down barriers in understanding autism. The show highlights the strength and capabilities of autistic individuals in adapting to their own world and the external world.
