
Greatest Symphonies II at the Cairo Opera House CSO plays Egyptian & International Classics

As part of the “Greatest Symphonies” concert series, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra presented a concert at the Main Hall on Saturday, 14 October at 8:30 p.m. The Orchestra was conducted by the Italian maestro, Giovanni Pompeo, with the participation of pianist Naghamaya, soprano Dalia Farouk, tenor Amr Medhat, bass Reda El Wakil, along with the A Cappella Choir led by Maya Gvineria.
The program of the evening featured a number of the most celebrated classical compositions including Concerto No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra by D. Shostakovich, “The Bells” by S. Rachmaninov and “Isis” Overture by Abu Bakr Khairat.
Introducing a series of diverse concerts is one of the on-going accomplishments of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. Not only do these concerts shed light on the most famous classical compositions worldwide, but they also foreground highly acclaimed Egyptian classics.
