Heritage Music Ensemble Celebrates the Centenary of Sayed Darwish

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Dagher, Chairman of the Board, continues its celebrations of the centenary of the great musician, Sayed Darwish. The Heritage Music Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Farouk El-Bably, opens its 2023-2024 artistic season with a concert at the Arab Music Institute on Sunday, 17 September 2023 at 8:30 p.m.

The program includes a selection of Sayed Darwish's most popular compositions performed by Angham Mustafa, Asmaa Kamal, Hanan Essam, Radwa Said, Atef Abdel Hameed , Mohamed Shawky, Mohie Salah, and Ahmed El-Waziry.

Sayed Darwish (1892-1923) is considered a pioneer in music and a catalyst for the musical renaissance in Egypt and the Arab world. He composed and sang numerous works that have become part of the Egyptian artistic heritage, revolutionizing the music scene in the early 20th century.
