Hits of Hollywood Film Music An Evening of Adventure, Magic & Nostalgia by Cairo Symphony Orchestra

The Cairo Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Ahmed Atef, gives a concert titled “Hits of Hollywood Film Music” at the Main Hall on Saturday, 7 September 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
The concert’s program features some of the greatest film scores and Hollywood epics in an awe-inspiring experience. During the evening, the Cairo Opera audience embarks in a magnificent journey through time and space with the music of Back to the Future, Lawrence of Arabia, Forrest Gump, The Godfather, James Bond, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Superman, Harry Potter, The Pink Panther and Mission Impossible.
Born in Cairo, Egypt, Maestro Ahmed Atef began his career as musician at the age of 14. First, he studied violin at the Academy of Arts with several Egyptian and international tutors, receiving his DMA in 2011. In 2013, he began studying conducting under the prominent Egyptian conductor Nayer Nagui, the ex-Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Cairo Opera Orchestra.
After composing incidental music for several short films, documentaries and drama series, Atef became an officially acknowledged music composer by the Egyptian Radio in 1998. In 2013, he founded “Sound of Egypt Orchestra” to present Egyptian incidental music, becoming the first orchestra in Egypt and the Arab world to be specialized in featuring this kind of music.
Atef’s career as a violinist and conductor has garnered him national and regional recognition. He has conducted numerous concerts that received standing ovation.
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1959 by the Austrian conductor Franz Litschauer. Since then, the Orchestra has contributed significantly in enriching Egypt’s serious musical scene by hosting world-famous musicians and supporting talents of Egyptian composers, instrumentalist and conductors. Throughout its history, the Orchestra has successfully incorporated international compositions into its repertoire, organized workshops with international trainers, and embarked on artistic tours worldwide.
