Ibérica de Danza at the Stages of the Cairo Opera House inAlexandria & Cairo

Under the title “Picasso En Danza”, the Spanish group Ibérica de Danza presents two concerts in Egypt. Directed by Violeta Ruiz and choreographed by Manuel Segovia, the first performance is held at the Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theatre” on Monday, 13 November 2023 and the second concert is held at the Small Hall of the Cairo Opera House on Thursday, 16 November 2023.

The program enthralls the audience with a series of dance tableaus that mirror the feminine universe of therenowned Spanish painter Pablo Picasso. The scenography presents a journey through the artist’s paintings such as “Sad Night”, “Silence”, “Agricultural Hymn”, “Fields of Sun and Moon”, “Polo”, and others.

Ibérica de Danza was founded in 1993 by Manuel Segovia and Violeta Ruiz. They aim to disseminate and draw inspiration from Spanish heritage. Successfully blending various dance forms and live music, including new and historical folk dances and flamenco, the Ibérica de Danza has garnered numerous awards, including the Best Dance Show in Madrid in 2020.
