
Masterpieces of Riyad El Sonbaty by Heritage Arab Music Ensemble at Gomhouria Theatre

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed hosts a concert by the Heritage Arab Music Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Farouk El Bably at the Gomhouria Theatre on Thursday, 19 December at 8 p.m.
The concert’s program features a selection of the late composer’s most notable compositions performed by Ahmed Sabri, Hanan El Khouli, Ahmed Mohsen, and Asmaa Kamal.
Riyad El Sonbaty, born on 30 November, 1906, is considered one of the most prominent Arab musicians. He was renowned for his unique ability to compose Arabic poetry. Over his lifetime, he composed 539 vocal works and 38 musical compositions. El Sonbaty collaborated with some of the greatest Arab singers and received numerous awards and honors. He passed away in 1981, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy that remains a significant part of the history of Arab music.
