Moushira Issa & Her Students in a Musical Evening at Cairo Opera House

As part of the diverse activities of the Ministry of Culture, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zaid, is hosting the annual concert of the renowned Egyptian pianist Moushira Issa and her students at the Main Hall on Friday, 17 May 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
The concert’s program includes a number of classical compositions written for piano, including works by Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn, in addition to the national anthem which Moushira Issa has arranged especially for piano.
The concert features a group of promising talents who have been trained by Moushira Issa, including Petra Shawky, Talia Ziada, Tamara Ziada, Amaya Hosny, Emma Mehany, Farid Nassif, Sherif Elezawi, Talia Kandil, Selim Fikry, Mourad Refaat, Nadia Elgammal, Maya Elzorba, Omar Tawfik, Adam Binladen, Hamdy Wagih, and Youmna Ashraf.
Moushira Issa is an Egyptian pianist with an outstanding musical background and an international reputation. She is a Professor at the Academy of Arts in Cairo. Born in Cairo, she studied at the Cairo Conservatoire from where she graduated with distinction. She went on to study at the Music Academy of Vienna and received a diploma of piano performance with distinction in 1984 and a PhD in 1987.
Her concert tours gave her international recognition and led her to five continents, including countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Kuwait, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Yugoslavia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Mexico, and Guatemala.
Moushira Issa was awarded many prizes and awards. In December 2017, she was honoured by the Academy of Arts at the Closing Ceremony of Third Arab Scientific Forum for her outstanding accomplishments in the Egyptian artistic field. She performed at the European Union headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2017. In 2019, the world-famous Egyptian pianist, Moushira Issa, was chosen by the BBC International Corporation among the most influential 100 women in the world. Noteworthy, Prof. Atef Imam Fahmy chose Dr. Moushira as case study for his research titled “The Creativity of African Woman in Piano - Moushira Issa, A Case Study”.
