Nesma Abdel Aziz at Alexandria Opera House

As part of the Summer Festival organized by the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Dagher, Chairman of the Board, Nesma Abdel Aziz - famous Egyptian marimbist - presents a concert at Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theatre” on 23 August 2023.

The program includes a wide variety of Arab & Western musical compositions specifically arranged for marimba and percussion ensemble.
Nesma Abdel Aziz started her musical studies at the age of 12 and obtained her Bachelor degree from the Cairo Conservatoire with honors in 1997. In 2014, she got her PhD degree in Arts.
Nesma Abdel Aziz Group was established in 2000 and aims to present a new type of music which combines classical music, modern music, jazz, and international music in addition to Arab music with and thus creates a new musical pattern that depends on mixing between Western and Arab instruments and to present it in a contemporary context that is compatible with marimba and percussion.

Audiences and critics call her "Princess of Percussion" due to her extraordinary talent as a percussionist.
