18 November 2023

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Daghr, will hold a concert by the Religious Song Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Omar Farahat, at the Gomhouria Theatre, on Sunday, 19 November 2023 at 8p.m.
The program features a wide selection of religious songs, hymns, and supplications performed by Mohamed Abdel Hamid, Mohamed Nashaat, Mohamed El-Gazzar, Taha Hussein, Wael Serag, Mohamed Hussein, Ibrahim Farouk, and Omneya Samir.
The Religious Song Ensemble was established in 1972 by the late Maestro Abdel Halim Nowera to present religious songs, mainly during holy celebrations and feasts. Eager to make this Ensemble one of the top performing groups in this field, Maestro Nowera started the first step by choosing highly talented and skilled vocalists in hymns and supplications (tawasheeh). For more than 50 years, the Religious Song Ensemble has been regularly participating in all religious celebrations organized by the Cairo Opera House on its theaters in Cairo, Alexandria, and Damanhour.
