Spiritual Songs and Chants at Gomhouria Theatre

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamia Zayed, hosts a concert by the Religious Song Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Omar Farhat, at the Gomhouria Theatre on Friday, 10 January 2025, at 8 p.m.
The concert’s program features a selection of religious hymns, songs and supplications, performed by Mohamed Abdel Hamid, Heba Adel, Ahmed Hassan, Taha Hussein, Hatem Zayed, Ahmed Nafea, Samah Abbas, and the reciter Hossam Saqr.
The Religious Song Ensemble was established in 1972 by the late composer Abdel Halim Nowera to preserve the religious singing tradition and train young talents in religious singing and invocations. The Ensemble regularly performs at the various Cairo Opera House venues across Cairo, Alexandria, and Damietta.
