Talents Development Center Celebrates World Music Day at Small Hall

20 June 2024

As part of the celebrations of the World Music Day, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is organizing a concert by the Talents Development Center at the Small Hall on Friday, 21 June 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
The concert’s program includes works by great composers such as Haydn, Chopin, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Saint-Saëns, Khachaturian, and Prokofiev performed by the piano classes, supervised and trained by Dr. Marcelle Matta and Dr. Mariam El Mamlouk.
The World Music Day originated from an initiative launched by the French Ministry of Culture on 21 June 1982, under the slogan "Play Music on Music Day," attracting thousands of professional and amateur musicians. The Francophone and Mediterranean countries were the first to participate, and it quickly turned into a global celebration.
The Talents Development Center was established to enhance artistic taste and support talented individuals in various fields of the arts. It includes multiple departments such as piano, guitar, tap dance, opera, Arab singing, flute, violin, oud, qanun and ballet.
Additionally, classes for people with special needs have been added. The center participates in various celebrations organized by the Cairo Opera House on different occasions and regularly organizes concerts for its students to encourage and acknowledge their efforts and academic accomplishments.
