“The Magic of Romantic Operas” at Gomhouria Theatre

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is organizing a concert titled “The Magic of the Romantic Operas” featuring stars of the Cairo Opera Company accompanied by Mina Hanna on piano at the Gomhouria Theatre on 16 & 17 May 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
Romantic arias and duets from famous French and German operas, such as: “Samson and Delilah” by C. Saint-Saëns; “The Magic Flute”, “Abduction from the Seraglio” by W. A. Mozart; “La Belle Hélène”, “Carmen”, “The Pearl Fishers” by G. Bizet; “Romeo and Juliet” and “Faust” by Ch. Gounod; and “The Count of Luxembourg” by F. Lehár are featured by Reda El Wakil, Mona Rafla, Moustafa Mohamed, Jacqueline Rafiq, Emad Adel, Ezzat Ghanem, Laila Ibrahim, Osama Gamal, Osama Ali, Veronika Philip, Borhan El Din Farouk, and Ahmed El Shimi. The concerts are directed by Sherif Ramadan and organized by Dr. Dalia Farouk.
The Cairo Opera Company was officially founded in 1964 and has a vast repertoire that includes more than 32 opera productions. Members of the Company performed notable roles at the most prestigious venues worldwide. Through years of dedication and diligence, the Cairo Opera Company succeeded in amassing a fan base of opera enthusiasts and music lovers.
