“The Music of Letters” at the Cairo Opera House

Khalifa El-Shemy & Arabic Calligraphy Artworks at Salah Taher Gallery

Under the title “The Music of Letters”, Khalifa El-Shemy showcases more than 60 Arabic calligraphy paintings using “mixed media” technique. The exhibition displays the beauty of Arabic letters and scripts and is held at the Salah Taher Gallery starting from Saturday, 21 October at 7 p.m. to Thursday, 26 October 2023.
Khalifa El-Shemy is a plastic art artist and calligrapher who studied Islamic architecture and Arabic calligraphy. He received an ijazah (diploma of competency) in Arabic calligraphy from Arab calligraphy masters. El-Shemy has held several successful private exhibitions in addition to participating in important exhibitions in Egypt and the UAE. He is a member of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, the Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation Association and the Syndicate of Arabic Calligraphy in Cairo.
