The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, continues its cultural and intellectual activities at the Damanhur Opera House on Friday, 28 June 2024 at 7 p.m.
In cooperation with the National Cinema Center headed by Dr. Hussein Bakr, the Damanhour Cinema Club screens two short narrative films - "Rizk" and "Photogenic" - and a short documentary titled "Graduation Project about Cairo.” Following the screening a panel discussion is held, moderated by film critic Ahmed Asser and hosting directors Sherif Gaber and Mahmoud Khawaga.
The events of "Rizk," directed by Sherif Gaber, revolve around a palm climber who falls ill during the harvest season. Due to his sickness, he faces a number of hardships and challenges.
"Photogenic," inspired by a story by the great writer Ihsan Abdel Quddous, is written and directed by Sherif Gaber. It revolves around a young man who loves photography and firmly believes that the camera lens is more truthful than the human eye until he falls in love.
The documentary "Graduation Project about Cairo," directed by Mahmoud Khawaga, revolves around a young man returning to his small town after spending a long time in Cairo, documenting his journey along the way and starting to compare the nature of life in the two cities.
