Yehia Khalil Celebrates New Year With Two Concerts in Cairo & Alexandria

The Cairo Opera House hosts two concerts by Yehia Khalil, the legendary jazz musician, celebrating New Year 2024 at Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theater” on Friday, 5 January 2024 and at the Small Hall on Thursday, 18 January 2024.
Yehia Khalil prepared a distinctive artistic program that includes a collection of his compositions along with a number of works by internationally renowned jazz musicians and great Arab composers like Mohamad Abdel Wahab, Baligh Hamdi, Kamal Al Taweel.
Yehia Khalil has recently returned from his tour in the United States after participating in numerous concerts including the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum concert in which he was accompanied by the National Arab Orchestra conducted by Maestro Michael Ibrahim.
Yehia Khalil is widely regarded as the pioneer of the jazz movement in Egypt. He succeeded in creating a unique blend of jazz and oriental music that has earned him international recognition. Due to his remarkable achievements, Khalil became permanent guest at the most important international jazz festivals in Europe, Africa and the United States of America. He also has an intense concert activity worldwide performing in many countries like: Italy, France, Serbia, Bulgaria, Austria, Greece, Russia, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, and others.
Capturing the imagination of Egyptian youth, he has a huge and growing fan base that attends his regular concerts and consumes his music with passion. Yehia Khalil succeeded in shaping the entire Egyptian musical scene and has been creating game-changing music for the past four decades. He continues to re-define jazz, blending world trends with Egyptian music.
