A Musical Journey from Baroque to Jazz

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, holds a concert by the Alexandria Opera House String Orchestra, conducted alternately by Mohamed Hamdy (clarinet) and Tamer Kamal (saxophone and bassoon), at Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theatre” on Friday, 31 May 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
The concert’s program includes a selection of diverse works written specifically for clarinet, saxophone and bassoon by prominent composers including George Frideric Handel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Roberto di Girolamo, Hector Villa Lopez and Astor Piazzolla.
The Alexandria Opera House String Orchestra was officially founded by Dr. Nevine El Mahmoudy and gave many successful concerts throughout Egypt. Noteworthy, the Orchestra participated in several national and international festivals which were held within the framework of the cultural cooperation between Egypt and countries all over the world.
