Great Works For Strings at Alexandria Opera House

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, hosts a concert by the Alexandria Opera House String Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Sherif Mohie El Din titled “Great Works for Strings” at the Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theatre” on Friday, 26 April 2024 at 8 p.m.
The concert’s program features famous classical works for strings written by major composers like: Gustav Holst’ “St. Paul’s Suite” for String Orchestra; Edward Grieg’s “Holberg Suite” for String Orchestra; Edward Elgar’s “Elegy” for Strings; and Benjamin Britten’s “Simple Symphony” for String Orchestra.
The Alexandria Opera House String Orchestra was officaly founded by Dr. Nevine El Mahmoudy and gave many successful concerts throughout Egypt. Noteworthy, the Orchestra participated in several national and international festivals which were held within the framework of the cultural cooperation between Egypt and countries all over the world.
