Italian-Egyptian Symphony Night at Cairo Opera House.

As an embodiment of the Ministry of Culture’s goals to create bridges of communication between the different countries of the world, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, and in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Cairo, is organizing a concert titled “La Dolce Vita” by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra at the Main Hall on Saturday, 1 June 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
Under the baton of the Italian Maestro Alessandro Tirotta, and with the participation of Mohamed Shams (piano) and Mohamed Gamal (trombone), the concert’s program includes a selections from famous classical compositions: Fontane di Roma and Feste Romane by Ottorino Respighi; Piano Concerto in C major and Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra by Nino Rota.
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1959 by the Austrian conductor Franz Litschauer. Since then, the Orchestra has contributed significantly in enriching Egypt’s serious musical scene by hosting world-famous musicians and supporting talents of Egyptian composers, instrumentalist and conductors. Throughout its history, the Orchestra has successfully incorporated international compositions into its repertoire, organized workshops with international trainers, and embarked on artistic tours worldwide.
