“The Past and Present” - An Exhibition by Alaa Hegazy at Cairo Opera House

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamia Zayed, is hosting an exhibition titled “The Past and Present” by Alaa Hegazy at Salah Taher Gallery from Monday, 30 December 2024 until Wednesday, 8 January 2025.
The exhibition showcases around 40 paintings combining various materials (like charcoal and pencil) and techniques (traditional and modern drawing techniques). In his artwork, the artist draws inspiration from symbols and motifs derived from both ancient and contemporary Egypt to tackle social challenges posed by identity and culture.
Alaa Hegazy graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Painting Department, in 1986. His paintings are exhibited in Egypt, Kuwait, Gulf countries, Spain, the United States, England and France.
