Cairo Opera Orchestra Season’s Opening Concert

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, hosts the season’s opening concert of the Cairo Opera Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Mohamed Saad Basha, at the Main Hall on Thursday, 19 September 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
Accompanied by the Cairo Opera Choir, the concert’s program includes selections from several world-famous operas and ballets by Rossini, Saint-Saëns, Kálmán, Orff, Ginastera, Gamal Abdel Rahim and Rimsky-Korsakov.
On the other hand, the Cairo Opera Orchestra, founded in 1994, plays a major role in Egypt’s classical music scene. Established to accompany the different companies of the Cairo Opera House (mainly the Cairo Opera Ballet Company and the Cairo Opera Company) in their performances, the Orchestra’s repertoire includes a vast number of celebrated classical ballets, famous operas, and gala concerts.
