“Stiola” - An Art Exhibition by Dr. Saleha Al Masry at Cairo Opera House

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamia Zayed, is hosting an exhibition titled “Stiola” by plastic artist Dr. Saleha Al Masry. The exhibition opens at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 18 February, and continues until Thursday, 27 February 2025, at Salah Taher Gallery.
The exhibition showcases 26 pottery works that embody the essence of Egyptian heritage found in ancient settlements that evolved into towns scattered across Upper Egypt. She created her artwork by utilizing smoke effects during the reduction phase. To enrich the surface of the pottery aesthetically, ancient script symbols were adapted - not to convey literal meanings but to add unique visual elements to each piece.
“Stiola” represents the second event in the Keramos exhibition series, which Al Masry initiated in January 2024.
