The Egyptian Modern Dance Theatre company Presents “Frida” for Two Nights at El Gomhouria Theatre

08 October 2026

The Cairo Opera House presented Frida, a production by the Modern Dance Theatre Company, choreographed and directed by Sally Ahmed. The performances took place at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, October 8 and 9, at Gomhouria Theatre.

Blending artistic expression with a deeply human narrative, the production traces the life of Mexican visual artist Frida Kahlo, shedding light on the pain and challenges she endured, which became an integral part of her artistic journey.

Through her remarkable ability to transform suffering into creative energy and a driving force for self-expression, Kahlo created inspiring artworks and paintings that transcended the boundaries of time and place.
