Cairo Opera House Hosts colOrchestra International Gala

As part of the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to promote international artistic exchange, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is hosting colOrchestra International Gala, accompanied by the Cairo Opera Orchestra, under the baton of the Armenian Maestro, Gevorg Sargsyan, at the Main Hall on Tuesday, 30 April 2024 at 8 p.m.
This concert is a culminating event in a months-long colORCHESTRA project designed to discover and present Concertos for wide variety of instruments from various periods, performed by international artists of highest caliber. Soloists for this Concert were selected by International Panel of Judges through rigorous live auditioning, out of a pool of applicants from all over the world.
This project invites musicians and audience to bridge geographic and other barriers and come together for a truly remarkable musical journey.
Works by renowned composers such as D. Kabalevsky, C. Saint-Saëns, H. Wieniawski, M. De Falla, A. Piazzolla and I. Albeniz are performed by the American harpist, Anna Maria Mendieta, the Korean-American pianist Kate Lee, and the Japanese saxophonist, Misato Hanawa during the concert.
